Welcome to the restaurant Le Monchu, which welcomes you in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, near the Casino Barrière, in the department of Haute-Savoie (74).
Founded in 1972, Le Monchu welcomes you in a cosy atmosphere, with a decoration made up of different collections (coffee grinders, tools from the 18th century fields, carpentry tools, etc.). All these Savoyard objects add a particular and personal charm to the Monchu.

Our restaurant, Le Monchu, is located in the heart of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, and offers a magnificent view of the Mont-Blanc, as well as l’aiguille du midi.
The Monchu is not called that by chance.” Monchu “is a patois word for” the tourist “, whose origin dates back to the 19th century, and which derives its source from an alteration of” Monsieur “. A familiar word in the ears of the Chamoniards, which is still present in today’s language.
Le Monchu is a restaurant with a covered and heated terrace seating 120 people, with a friendly chalet-like atmosphere, where sharing, authenticity and warmth are our watchwords. Our room has 230 seats, on two levels, which allows us to ensure group meals (only by reservation), for any professional or festive event: seminars, banquets, weddings, communions, anniversaries, etc.
Our restaurant is also accessible for people with reduced mobility, and accepts animals. A free public car park allows you to park near the establishment.
